Eminem and Kid Cudi have teamed up for a new track, “The Adventures of Moon Man and Slim Shady”.

In the song, which marks the first official collaboration between the two rappers, Eminem takes aim at people who refuse to wear masks during the coronavirus pandemic.

He also addresses police brutality and his status in contemporary rap, with a few typical lines calling out his haters.

Eminem raps: “Don't wanna wear a mask and they're just scoffing/ And that's how you end up catching the s**t off 'em/ I just used the same basket as you shopping/ Now I'm in a f***in' casket from you coughin' (Damn).”

He also references victims of police brutality by name, with the lyrics: “Prayers to George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery (Yeah)/ How the f*** is it that so many cops are dirty? (Huh?)/ Stop, man, please, officer, I'm sorry/ But I can't breathe when I got you on top of me/ Your goddamn knee's on my carotid artery (F***).”

Kid Cudi’s verse, meanwhile, is a heady, stream-of-consciousness style rap that references a number of luxury brands.

The rappers perform over brooding instrumentation featuring a low bass line and orchestral-style strings.

The track was produced by regular Kid Cudi producer Dot Da Genius and Eminem.

“The Adventures of Moon Man & Slim Shady” is Kid Cudi’s second solo single of 2020, after his April release “Leader of the Delinquents”.

Eminem released his latest album, Music To Be Murdered By, earlier this year.
