Emergency Crews Work Through Night to Rescue Survivors of Deadly Dnipro Strike

Emergency crews searched throughout the night of January 14-15 for survivors of a deadly missile strike on an apartment block in the central Ukrainian city of Dnipro.

Local authorities said the strike was carried out by Russian forces and killed at least 14 people, including a 15-year-old girl.

City officials said a further 73 people were injured in the attack, 14 of whom were children, and that 38 people had been rescued from the building.

Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (SES) said hundreds of emergency workers were working to assess the damage and rescue those trapped under rubble.

Footage released by the SES captured aerial imagery of the site. It also shows rescuers responding to a woman trapped underneath rubble after they heard her voice, the SES said. Credit: State Emergency Service of Ukraine via Storyful
