Ellen DeGeneres's Hair Transformation Is Nothing Like Her Signature Blonde Pixie
Say hello to the new Ellen.
It's been mere days since Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, absconded to the U.K. after the U.S. presidential election, and now, the veteran talk show host has a brand-new look. Sporting a short, dark haircut at a pub in Burford, England, DeGeneres's haircut looked nothing like the blonde pixie that's been her signature look for decades.
DeGeneres and de Rossi decided to "get the hell out" of the U.S. after Trump won his bid for reelection, according to TMZ. A source told the outlet that the couple was "very disillusioned" by the results. They're not the only ones to call it quits on the country; Eva Longoria recently announced that she, too, had relocated, and would split her time between Spain and Mexico.
Though it's unclear if DeGeneres's move to the U.K. is a permanent one, the change of pace when it comes to her hair is almost more surprising than her relocation. DeGeneres has sported a bright blonde pixie cut for decades, and the haircut is all but synonymous with her identity as a cornerstone of daytime TV.
Dating back to her television debut on her namesake show Ellen, and all the way through 19 seasons of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the blonde pixie has been with DeGeneres for as long as she has been in the public eye. Now, however, it seems fans will have to get used to a whole new look. If you think about it, it's kind of like the revenge dress phenomenon, if revenge is what you call breaking up with a country—or a president.
