Eli Roth’s Bloody ‘Thanksgiving’ Teaser Pits a Killer Pilgrim Against Addison Rae and Patrick Dempsey
It turns out Halloween isn’t the only time of year for horror.
Director Eli Roth is bringing blood, terror and turkey in the first teaser for “Thanksgiving,” a slasher starring Patrick Dempsey, TikTok star Addison Rae and more. The movie comes to theaters in time for the holiday season on Nov. 17.

Addison Rae to Star in Eli Roth's Slasher Film 'Thanksgiving'
Here’s the creepy logline: “After a Black Friday riot ends in tragedy, a mysterious Thanksgiving-inspired killer terrorizes Plymouth, Massachusetts – the birthplace of the infamous holiday.”
In the trailer, a pilgrim-themed killer hunts down his victims in a bloody fashion, including one particularly spine-chilling kill in a walk-in freezer.
“Thanksgiving” is the full vision of a fake trailer showcased in Roth, Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s 2007 horror “Grindhouse.” In the original trailer, Roth stars while a mysterious slasher invades a small town in Massachusetts amid the holiday.
Like the original faux “Thanksgiving” trailer that was showcased in “Grindhouse,” Rodriguez went on to adapt the “Machete” teaser into the 2010 feature that starred Danny Trejo. “Machete,” too, notably went on to become its own franchise in a short-lived series.
The cast includes TikTok star Rae, Dempsey, Milo Manheim, Nell Verlaque, Jalen Thomas Brooks, Dempsey, Rick Hoffman, Gina Gershon, Chris Sandiford, Tim Dillon and Tomaso Sanelli round out the cast of the slasher. Rae’s feature in “Thanksgiving” comes after she recently debuted her “2 Die 4” single which features pop artist Charli XCX.
“Thanksgiving” was co-written by Roth and Jeff Rendell. Roth, too, joins as a producer alongside Roger Birnbaum.
