Certified Fresh at 83% on Rotten Tomatoes, Thanksgiving is Roth’s highest-rated film to date. TriStar Pictures will release the sequel theatrically worldwide in 2025.

Roth came up with the story with Jeff Rendell, the idea behind Thanksgiving starting when they were both kids going to see slasher films. It became one of several fake movie trailers between the two features that went into the cult 2007 film Grindhouse by Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino. Roth has been gobbling about turning it into a feature for many years, with Carver slicing and dicing revelers on the Thanksgiving holiday in Plymouth, MA.

Roth directed and produced with Roger Birnbaum and Rendell, and it starred Patrick Dempsey, Addison Rae, Milo Manheim, Jalen Thomas Brooks, Nell Verlaque, with Rick Hoffman, Gina Gershon and Tim Dillon.
