The Saudi-led coalition fighting the Houthi group in Yemen said it intercepted six explosive drones fired towards the kingdom on Friday, with the Houthis claiming to have launched attacks into southern Saudi Arabia since dawn. Parts of the destroyed drones fell and injured a 10-year-old boy and also a man who was driving near the Saudi city of Khamis Mushait, Saudi civil defence said. The Iran-aligned Houthis have stepped up cross-border drone and missile attacks on Saudi cities recently, mostly targeting the southern part of the country.

The New York Taxi Workers Alliance (NYTWA) said the demonstration was for undocumented workers, who have been excluded from unemployment benefits and stimulus payments during the pandemic, and said New York City’s cab drivers “stand in solidarity” with workers struggling through the pandemic.New York Communities for Change, a political activist group that posted this footage, said its members were marching “for all excluded workers, those who can’t pay rent and those who have lost work.” The group called for tax hikes for the wealthy and rent cancellation.The demonstration closed lanes on both bridges, according to reports. At least 20 people were killed and 30 wounded by a suicide car bomb just outside a restaurant near the port in Somalia's capital Mogadishu late on Friday, an emergency services official said.
