Egyptian skaters enjoy a traffic-free ride in Port Said

STORY: Hundreds of young Egyptians donned their skating gear and participated in a rally at the Egyptian canal city of Port Said, which organisers say is the first of its kind in the country.

Around 800 sport lovers gathered from different cities for the rally and skated for nearly four kilometres across the city on Friday (May 27).

They got the chance to get to know each other and practise their favourite sport, whether amateur or professional.

The event was organised by the Port Said governorate, the Tourism Development Authority and the Ministry of Youth and Sports directorate, to promote local tourism in the city.
