At least 16 people, including two children, died after severe flooding devastated parts of eastern Kentucky on Thursday, July 28, officials said.
In a Friday morning briefing, Gov Andy Beshear said the victims included children and the elderly, and said he expected the number to increase.
“We’ll continue to provide more information as it comes in,” he said.
