EastEnders and I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! star Jacqueline Jossa has responded to criticism that she called herself a plus-size model, saying that she has never given herself that label and doesn't consider herself to be plus-size.

The actress, who has also launched her own clothing collection, revealed on her Instagram Stories that she has received several messages from people asking her why she called herself a plus-size model, leading her to clarify that she has never used that term herself and that instead an article had referred to her in that way.

"Yesterday I got quite a few DMs of people saying to me, 'You're not plus-sized. Why do you call yourself plus-sized? I'm much bigger than you, how do you think that makes me feel?' Understood," she said. "I don't call myself plus-size. I'm not plus-size. I'm like size 12.

"(An article) said I am embracing my new plus-sized model body or whatever it was. One, I'm not a model. Two, I'm not a plus-sized model. And I think they took what I said out of context from a story about four months ago.

"I basically responded to another article about another article, saying: 'Oh listen I keep getting called plus-size, it's not something I ever really thought that I was or ever felt like it needed to be addressed. I don't see myself as plus-size, I'm not a plus-size model.'"

Jacqueline continued by saying that if people want to call her plus-size "I'm fully here for it because there's nothing wrong with being a slightly larger woman or a slightly smaller woman, whatever it is".

"People take these things too seriously and put words in my mouth," she added. "I don't ever call myself a plus-size model, nor do people I know. I'm not a plus-size model, of course I'm not. I'm not a model for God's sake. I hate the word plus-size, I hate it. I think it's just really s**t."

The actress, who is married to former The Only Way Is Essex star Dan Osborne and has two children with him, finished her update by saying that she is "not ashamed of how I look" and that she is completely happy with her body.

"Even in my pap pictures where I look bigger, I'm like: 'Nah I'm in proportion.' I'm never hating on my body and I think people get pissed off with that. Soz," she said.

"Also I never asked to be this size 12, inclusive... I never asked to be that, I just am so I do embrace it. I'm not gonna shy away from it and be offended that people are gonna call me real and normal."
