Dwayne Johnson is nearly ready to enter the Worlds of DC.

The former WWE champion will finally be tackling the superhero genre to play the ultimate anti-hero — ancient Egyptian dictator-turned-not-quite-villain Black Adam.

With a release date set for December 22, 2021, the timing seems about right for some major news about the movie — and that's exactly what fans will be getting in August.

Johnson has announced on Instagram that he will be taking part in DC Fandome, an all-day event on Saturday, August 22 featuring panels from Zack Snyder's Justice League, Wonder Woman 1984, The Batman, all of the Arrowverse… and Black Adam!

"The hierarchy of power in the DC Universe is about to change," he teased on Instagram. "I will be joining the epic and first of its kind, #DCFanDome on 08.22.20. This one is for YOU - THE FANS."

There are already huge plans for Black Adam in the Worlds of DC, including the possibility of a crossover with his comics counterpart Shazam following that character's 2022 sequel.

"I can say that as far as I know, Black Adam is not going to be in the second Shazam!, because the idea is that they want to go and do a standalone Black Adam movie first," Zachary Levi has confirmed.

"And then it would kind of be, if we do a third Shazam! and a second Black Adam, kind of [parallel] like that, that's where we would [meet].

"We'll definitely [cross over] — the plan is to get there, but just to pace it out however it needs to pace out."

Shazam! is available to purchase now, while Black Adam is set for release on December 22, 2021.
