Dutch dance on frozen lake despite lockdown

Video shows people gathered, some dancing to upbeat music on the ice while others skate, with many holding cups or drinking.

Government regulations state that for winter activities like ice skating, people may only go with one person who is not in their household.

The rules state that a distance of 1.5 metres should be kept, except for children up to and including 17 years old.

Local media reported that several people had fallen into the ice on Saturday but were helped by witnesses.

The Dutch government has extended a night-time curfew intended to slow the spread of coronavirus through March 3.
