Dust Storms Roll Across Western Nebraska Panhandle

Strong winds stirred up dust across portions of Nebraska’s western Panhandle region on Thursday, May 12.

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a hazardous weather outlook for the area throughout Thursday night, and said a Pacific low pressure system would produce scattered showers, thunderstorms, and strong western winds with gusts up to 45 mph.

Wind speeds could reach up to 65 mph in Laramie County, the NWS reported.
