Dust Devil Crosses Street Near Lubbock
A “gustnado” swept dust and debris across the street in Wolfforth, Texas, on August 29, amid special weather warnings for the Lubbock area.
This footage captured by Brenna Powe shows the whirlwind.
“I had never seen one as big and as powerful as that one. They usually break up once they hit the road but this one had so much power and had so much debris,” Powe told Storyful.
The National Weather Service issued a warning for the region, urging residents to seek sturdy shelter. Credit: Brenna Powe via Storyful

BREANNA POWE: Stop.
- Although I think it's just a big dustnado, quite honestly.
BREANNA POWE: Look, it's like throwing trash-- look, all the way to the sky. That was wild.
