Dune: Prophecy has been renewed for Season 2 at HBO. The news comes just days ahead of the prequel series’ Season 1 finale, airing this Sunday at 9/8c.

Set 10,000 years before the ascension of Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreides, Dune: Prophecy follows two Harkonnen sisters — Mother Superior Valya (played by Emily Watson) and Reverend Mother Tula (Olivia Williams) — as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect that will become known as the Bene Gesserit.
The cast also includes Jodhi May (The Witcher) as Empress Natalya, Travis Fimmel (Vikings) as Desmond Hart, Mark Strong (Temple) as Emperor Javicco Corrin, Jessica Barden (The End of the F***ing World) and Emma Canning (Masters of the Air) as Young Valya and Young Tula, plus Sarah-Sofie Boussnina (Knightfall), Shalom Brune-Franklin (The Tourist), Aoife Hinds (Normal People), Chloe Lea (Foundation), Josh Heuston (Heartbreak High), Edward Davis (Sanditon), Jade Anouka (His Dark Materials), Yerin Ha (Halo) and Faoileann Cunningham (The Northman).
Alison Schapker (Altered Carbon, Westworld) serves as showrunner.
