In the early months of living during the pandemic, we'll be the first to admit our baking quests were quite ambitious. Sourdough? Sign us up. Luscious layer cakes? Yes, please. Scratch-made birthday cakes? We wouldn't have it any other way.

But now, as our ambition — and patience — wears off, we've sought our dessert fix with no-fail recipes we can put together without much effort. (These four-ingredient peanut butter cookies have been calling our names again and again.) Most of the time, that means whipping out the boxed cake or brownie mix, or thawing the pre-made frozen cookie dough, and calling it a day.

Now, we're excited to learn about another great way to satisfy our sweet tooths on the horizon: Duncan Hines EPIC Baking Kits. First and foremost, we can't wait to get our hands on the Fruity Pebbles Cake Kit, which comes in celebration of Fruity Pebbles' 50th anniversary and comes with confetti cake mix, frosting, and the beloved cereal for topping. The other products in the EPIC Baking Kits lineup aren't too shabby — a Salted Caramel Brownie Kit, S'mores Brownie Kit, Cookies & Cream Cookie Kit (pictured below), and Cookie Dough Cookie Kit round out the mix. All five kits are arriving at Walmart this March. After their launch at Walmart, the EPIC Baking Kits will begin rolling out at grocers and retailers nationwide.

Inspired by popular bakeries and social media baking stars, we have a feeling these kits will become our fun-at-home Friday night salvation. All kits will be available for a suggested retail price of $5.49 per box, and for that price point we may very well bake up a treat for a neighbor or friend to leave at their door for a socially-distanced surprise.

Times are tough. Let's keep our eye on the prize: Fluffy confetti cake, plenty of icing, and a Fred Flintstone-approved topping. Oh, and maybe one day being to gather 'round with all our friends and eat cake together.
