The Duchess star Katherine Ryan has celebrated her one-year anniversary with civil partner Bobby Kootstra by sharing some adorable throwback photos of the couple together.

The comedian and actress shared a snap on Instagram of herself and Bobby enjoying a glass of wine, as well as a pair of photos from the couple's past.

Katherine and Bobby actually dated while they were at high school before splitting, only to get back together 20 years later and enter into a civil partnership.

One of the photos Katherine shared was of the couple celebrating their school prom together, while the second is a picture of them embracing on the beach following their civil partnership ceremony.

"I don't advocate getting married to anyone unless it's @bobby_k__ Happy Anniversary to my one true love. #wewereonabreak," Katherine captioned her post, joking about the long gap in the couple's relationship.

Katherine's followers were delighted to see the nostalgic photos, with one writing "OMG BABE" and another commenting "Amazing !!! True love right there !!!"

The debut season of Katherine's new Netflix comedy-drama The Duchess dropped earlier this month and she recently told Digital Spy and other press that she is already mapping out a potential second season.

Saying that she has "lots of narrative ideas for the story in the future", the star said that she is very much hoping for the show to be recommissioned because she still has "so much to say".

The Duchess stars Ryan as "powerful and problematic" single mother Katherine, who is contemplating trying to have another baby with her daughter Olive's dad Shep (Rory Keenan), a boyband star who she now sees as an enemy.

The Duchess is now available to stream on Netflix.
