Drudge says debate was ‘The End’ for Trump

Matt Drudge thinks Tuesday’s debate between former President Trump and Vice President Harris was the final nail in the coffin of Trump’s campaign ahead of November.

Starting late Tuesday, as the debate was still going on and into Wednesday morning, the banner headline on Drudge Report read “The End” with a doctored image showing Trump surrounded by cats, ducks and other small animals.

The image was a reference to perhaps the most memorable moment of Tuesday’s debate, in which Trump screamed, “They’re eating dogs,” in reference to unfounded allegations that migrants had eaten pets in a small Ohio town. Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), who drew headlines for floating the conspiracy theory earlier this week, has faced mounting scrutiny over the idea.

Harris was seen by many as the winner of the debate, while Trump and his allies have railed against ABC moderators for what they say was bias against him.

A flash poll from CNN, shared early Wednesday, found that most registered voters said the vice president outperformed the GOP nominee in their first, and maybe only, debate this cycle.

Drudge, who presides over an aggregation website that once earned tens of millions of page views, has been critical of Trump for years.
