Dropping into Kerry meeting, UK PM pitches again before climate summit

LONDON (Reuters) - Prime Minister Boris Johnson dropped into a meeting at the foreign office with U.S. climate envoy John Kerry on Monday, his spokesman said, part of efforts to drum up support for countries to set "meaningful" steps before a climate conference.

"We are chairing COP (26) later this year and we want to use it to make meaningful progress to tackle the issue of climate change," the spokesman told reporters. "We've said previously that we want countries to come to COP with meaningful objectives and change so we can tackle this issue as one world."
