An ice fisherman’s new year got off to a rocky start when he fell through a frozen lake in Lanark County, Ontario, and had to be rescued by an emergency crew.
Drone footage of the dramatic rescue, as well as the audio from the 911 call made by the fisherman’s companion, was released by Ontario Provincial Police on January 5.
According to police, the 57-year-old man had been stuck in Mississippi Lake for over 45 minutes but “found just enough strength to hang on to his friend when he saw help arrive.”
