Drone footage shows overwhelmed Greek cemeteries

Greece's second largest city has consistently reported more cases than the capital during the second wave, even after almost a month of lockdown. On Thursday (December 3), it reported 428 cases to Athens' 334.

Stavros Chatzivaritis, a local funeral services provider, told Reuters on Friday (December 4) that local cemeteries were booked up to two days in advance, and between five and eight burials were taking place each day in the city.

During a funeral on Thursday pallbearers in head-to-toe PPE buried coffins wrapped in plastic, as a masked priest chanted the eulogy. Few mourners took part.
