Residents were evacuated from Maryborough, Queensland, on January 9 after gates under a levee were damaged, causing severe flooding.
At least 30 homes and 50 businesses were damaged in Maryborough when about 650 mm of rain fell in less than 24 hours.
The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) said the Mary River peaked at 9.90 meters, with moderate to major flood warnings still in effect by midweek.
