A winter storm created gusty winds and crashing waves along the Lake Erie port in Erie, Pennsylvania, on Thursday, February 27.

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a lake-effect snow warning on Thursday, cautioning against travel in the high winds and blowing snow along Lake Erie. Wind speeds up to 51 mph were recorded in Erie, while winds at other lakeshore locations reached 61 mph, according to an NWS report.
