Driver, 64, dead in single-vehicle crash near Port Blandford

Police say that a 64-year-old man is dead following a single-vehicle crash that occurred Monday on the Trans-Canada Highway near Port Blandford.

Clarenville RCMP responded to a report around 10 a.m. NT on Monday that a vehicle had left the highway and rolled over.

The driver was the only person in the vehicle.

In a news release, RCMP said the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.

The man was found outside the vehicle with severe injuries. He was transported to G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Port Blandford Fire Department and other first responders came to the scene.

Police continue to investigate the crash.
