Earlier in 2020, Drew and Jonathan Scott's feel-good series Celebrity IOU became the highest-rated first-year series in HGTV history. Over 36 million viewers tuned in to watch the builder brothers aid big-name celebrities in major renovation projects. With that being said, HGTV went ahead and renewed the title for another season.

Here's everything we know about Celebrity IOU season 2 so far.

When will Celebrity IOU season 2 premiere?

HGTV revealed that the show's second season will premiere on December 14, 2020 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. This installment will feature four episodes. Although this is one episode less than season one, it's totally understandable given 2020’s trajectory.

Which celebrities will appear on Celebrity IOU season 2?

New season, new stars, and new heartwarming projects! HGTV confirmed that New Girl alum Zooey Deschanel (aka Jonathan's girlfriend!), This Is Us actor Justin Hartley, Mom actress Allison Janney, and The Office star Rainn Wilson will each tackle their own renovation project with the Scott brothers.

The season will kick off with Zooey Deschanel's renovation project. In the premiere, Drew and Jonathan will help her transform her lifelong friend's small home into an open concept floor plan. This is Zooey’s first time working with Jonathan on TV—talk about a relationship milestone!

What is Celebrity IOU about?

Celebrity IOU season one premiered in April 2020. The show follows Drew and Jonathan Scott (aka the Property Brothers) as they help well-known celebrities surprise loved ones with special renovation projects.

In season one, with Drew and Jonathan's help, Brad Pitt surprised his makeup artist with an updated guesthouse, Melissa McCarthy gave her aunt and uncle's first floor a facelift, and Viola Davis transformed her former college roommate's home. Rebel Wilson and Michael Buble also surprised loved ones with stunning remodels.

Each hour-long episode not only gives fans a peek into the celebrity's personal life, but the chance to assess their design skills (FYI Melissa McCarthy is a demolition pro!). As the projects take place, the recipients are usually sent out of town on a surprise getaway, allowing the Scott brothers and celebrity guests some time to bust out the tools.
