Drew Barrymore’s daughter uses her 1995 Playboy cover to justify wearing a crop top

Drew Barrymore’s daughter knows how to turn the tables on her mom.

The actress recently revealed on her daytime talk show that one of her two young daughters has used her decades-old Playboy magazine cover to justify wanting to show some skin of her own.

During an interview with Christina Aguilera that touched on some of the challenges of parenting, Barrymore shared details of the exchange.

“My daughter wants to wear a crop top,” Barrymore said. “I’ll say, ‘No,’ and she’ll go, ‘You were on the cover of Playboy!’”

The 49-year-old former child star is the mother to daughters Olive, 11, and Frankie, 9, whom she shares with her ex-husband Will Kopelman.

In 1995, fashion photographer Ellen von Unwerth shot a pixie-cropped Barrymore for the cover of Playboy — wearing a formfitting white T-shirt pulled up to reveal her belly button, accentuated by fuchsia-hued lace underwear.

In a 1997 Russian edition of the magazine, Barrymore appeared on the cover showing much more skin with a lollipop in hand.

Aguilera, also a mother of two, added that her 9-year-old daughter, Summer, similarly has a love for crop tops.

“I knew it was coming the day I wore chaps,” the five-time Grammy winner quipped, referring to the skin-baring outfit she wore in the raunchy 2002 music video for “Dirrty.”

“My daughter wants to wear a crop top, too, and I’m just like, ‘Can we just pull it down?’ I see myself doing that,” she said.

“I think I always try to instill in her that certain people out there have good intentions and bad intentions,” the “Genie in a Bottle” singer added.
