From Seventeen

If you watched When you watched Emily in Paris over the weekend, you probably had many thoughts running through your mind as you finished the new Netflix series in one sitting (because there is no other way to do it). Will Emily end up with Mathieu or Gabriel? When do we get a season two? And obviously, where is her incredible phone case from? I'm right there with you, but really, it was the outfits for me.

From tweed jackets to extremely pink ensembles and so many accessories, Emily became more of a style icon with every single episode. I honestly haven't felt this way about a character's wardrobe since Gossip Girl, so I immediately set out to recreate the looks. I quickly realized almost all of the outfits cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, and so my dreams of wearing quilted purses and silk dresses lasted as long as Doug's chance with Emily.

Considering Emily in Paris was created by Sex and the City mastermind Darren Star, I should have known these outfits had Carrie Bradshaw price tags that would not fit my ASOS bank account. Alas, with a little effort I was able to find some lookalikes to help us all live our most stylish lives while, unfortunately, not in Paris.

Because there's a solid chance you don't have a spare $300 laying around to spend on Emily's Veronica Beard checkered blazer, this navy and white number from ASOS is the next best option. If there's one style lesson I learned from this show, it's to never shy away from printed sets.

Emily's Snakeskin Skirt

A moment of appreciation for Emily's Eiffel Tower blouse by Alice + Olivia, please? That paired with her green Ronny Kobo vegan leather skirt is an #OOTD combo I didn't know I needed. What I do know, is that snakeskin is a neutral and you should add this Free People skirt to your cart right this second.

Emily's Chill and Cozy Look

I've never met a cozy colorful sweater I didn't like, and this is certainly no exception. Although much more casual from the rest of her looks, this is one of my favorite outfits that Emily wears throughout season one. It's effortless yet stylish, and yes I obviously I had to find a way to cop it.

I'd like to give a round of applause to this perfect patterned silk look. 👏 👏👏👏. Okay, thanks. This number is feminine with a bit of edge, courtesy of the studded Rag and Bone belt. While Emily's exact silk skirt and top by Ganni will cost you over $500, you can create a similar look by pairing a yellow and black satin dress with a black belt. Congratulations, you are basically Emily in Paris now.

Breaking: Green layers are surprisingly chic. While Emily's tweed Chanel jacket is — brace yourself — more than $6,000, there are certainly other ways to recreate this look without spending your college tuition. While her mini leather bucket bag by Staud is no longer available, this $40 option from JW PEI is a fun alternative for a fraction of the price. Plus, denim is the new tweed, right? That's what I'm telling myself, anyway.

The adorable Kate Spade purse seen in this episode is no longer available, but there is a similar fuzzy bag that Emily would approve of, I'm certain. Between the floral jacket and pink turtle neck, this is one look I'd like to wear at least once a week for the rest of my life.

While her white boots were almost ruined, they survived and TG for that because they are so good. Although the nearly $1,000 white Vivienne Westwood bottoms are no longer available, there are plenty of options out there to recreate this look yourself (just look out for dog droppings, please).

Emily's Tie-Dye OOTD

In her most relatable outfit all season, Emily sports a tie-dye sweater that almost looks like the quarantine staple I have hanging in my closet. However, with a pink coat draped over her shoulders and a chic pair of mismatched earrings, it is anything but.
