Downed Trees Litter New Orleans Yard After Hurricane Ida

New Orleans was waking to the damage inflicted by Hurricane Ida on August 30, after the Category 4 storm hit the day before, packing maximum sustained winds of 150 mph.

Video posted on Instagram shows Monday morning’s view of downed trees in a New Orleans backyard. “We survived Hurricane Ida,” user @bayouinternational wrote in the caption. “Not my backyard though.”

Ida was downgraded to a tropical storm early Monday morning as it passed over southwestern Mississippi. At least one death was reported in Louisiana, and around a million people were without power. Credit: @bayouinternational via Storyful
