Filipino organisation TNC Predator announced their new Dota 2 roster on Wednesday (17 November) comprised of four up-and-coming players from the Philippines and Malaysia under the veteran leadership of returning captain Kim "Febby" Yong-min.

TNC Predator's new core players include newcomer carry Levi "YoungGod" Lagaret, former Execration midlaner Yuri Dave "Yowe" Pacaña, and Malaysian offlaner Lee "X1aOyU" Qian Yu.

Former OB Esports x Neon standout Prieme Ejay "PlayHard" Banquil will be filling the position 4 support role while Febby will be the team's captain and position 5 support player.

Febby started out as TNC Predator's coach in 2020 then entered the team's active roster in January this year before getting released in March.

TNC Predator have taken "a new direction" with their line-up for the upcoming 2021-2022 Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) season after the team released its former roster to free agency back in September.

"This season, we will face a big challenge as [Southeast Asia] will be stacked and full of powerhouse teams. For the past years, our team always had high-profile players but this time, we want to move in a different direction by picking up rising talents from the region and team them up with a veteran leader in the form of our new captain, Febby," TNC Predator said in a statement.

The organisation added that this "formula" of filling their team with rising talent under veteran leadership proved itself worthy during 2016 and 2017.

At the time, TNC Predator rose to become one of the best teams in Southeast Asia with talented Filipino players such as Carlo "Kuku" Palad, Marc Polo "Raven" Fausto, and Timothy "Tims" Randrup blossoming under the leadership of foreign captains in Jimmy "DeMoN" Ho and Sivatheeban "1437" Sivanathapillai.

"The road may be tough for us this season but we believe that with the right mindset, attitude, and discipline, our team will be able to go toe-to-toe with the best teams in the region and eventually in the global stage," added TNC Predator.

TNC Predator will be competing in Division I of the 2021-2022 DPC's Southeast Asian regional league. The 2021-2022 DPC season has been split into three Tours for the Fall, Winter, and Spring, with the regional leagues taking place from November 2021 to July 2022.

Even before the season has started, Southeast Asia is already looking to be arguably the most competitive region in the circuit with both of its divisions stacked with talented teams.

Of note, Talon Esports recently announced its entry into Dota 2 with a lineup headlined by Tal "Fly" Aizik, Kim "Gabbi" Villafuerte, and Damien "kpii" Chok that will be competing in Division II of the regional league.
