Donnie Yen's new movie halts filming indefinitely

29 Jan – Donnie Yen's upcoming new movie "Polar Rescue" has recently halted filming following the Wuhan Coronavirus outbreak.

As reported on On CC, the news was announced by the production studio, Filmko Entertainment, saying that they have stopped production in the Changbai Mountains indefinitely for the sake of the cast and crew's health.

"We have over 300 cast and crew members, and 500 extras. All of the staff have already received their initial pay and promised to free their schedule in the last three months of 2020 to resume filming," said Filmko's Alexander Wong.

At the same time, the company also assured that they will find local accommodations for any cast or crew member who cannot return home just yet.

Asked about the halt, Donnie stated that it has really affected his work schedule as a whole.

"But we have to look at the bigger picture. I hope that everybody will be safe and healthy," he added.

Reportedly, the filming halt will cost Filmko a loss of over millions of Hong Kong dollars.
