Donnie Yen to reprise role as Caine in "John Wick" spinoff
17 May - Donnie Yen is set to reprise his role as Caine from the "John Wick: Chapter 4" movie in a new Lionsgate spinoff film about the character.
As reported on THR, the upcoming project, which yet to be titled, will be shot in Hong Kong next year, though no director has been announced for the time being.
The movie reportedly will be about Caine following his departure from the High Table.
"Working on John Wick: Chapter 4 was an extraordinary experience. The reason these films resonate so deeply is because, like myself, Chad, Basil and Erica push themselves to create action, fights and stunts that are not only thrilling, inventive and artistic, but also expressive of character, story and emotion. Caine is an incredible character with a haunted past, and I am excited to return to the role," Donnie said in a statement.
The movie will be developed by "John Wick" director Chad Stahelski, with the screenplay penned by Robert Askins.
The Caine movie will be the next spinoff to came from the franchise aside from the upcoming "Ballerina", which stars Ana de Armas in the lead and sees the return of Anjelica Huston as "The Director".
