Donalds says Trump has ‘no enemies list’
Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.) said Sunday that President-elect Trump has “no enemies list” after Trump made headlines for referring to his opponents as “the enemy within.”
“For the American people who have been listening to these lies from the Democratic left, I will tell you, this is not something that Donald Trump has ever spoken to, or he’s committed to, whatsoever. There’s no enemies list,” Donalds said on “Fox News Sunday.”
The Florida Republican admitted that there are people who are opposed to Trump and whom he dislikes, but he argued Trump is “focused on the American people.”
Donalds said Trump’s top priorities are securing the country’s southern border, deporting noncitizens and improving the economy and energy.
“His focus is the American people, not some enemies list,” he reiterated.
Trump previously made several vows to go after his critics and perceived “enemies” if he won the election. Concerns that he might follow up on his threats increased in the days leading up to the election and even more after he secured a second term.
Limitations remain on what Trump could do in terms of seeking revenge on his political foes upon retaking the White House.
