Trump already has appointed Brendan Carr, a current commissioner, to serve as chairman of the agency. Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel, appointed by President Joe Biden, said she plans to step down and depart the FCC on Monday, when Trump takes office.
Rosenworcel’s departure will leave the FCC with a 2-2 split between Democrats and Republicans until the Senate confirms Trusty.
Trusty is policy director on the Senate Commerce Committee. She also is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Georgetown University.
