Donald Trump, Kamala Harris to Appear in Separate Town Halls on Univision

Presidential candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris will answer questions from voters on TV — just not at the same time.

The two candidates have agreed to participate in separate town hall events that will air on Spanish-language network Univision, it was announced on Tuesday. Trump’s event will air Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 10/9c from Miami, with Harris’ event to follow on Thursday, Oct. 10 at 10/9c from Las Vegas. Both events will air in Spanish on Univision and stream on ViX’s Noticias 24/7 channel, with an English-language version available on Noticias Univision’s YouTube channel.

The candidates will take questions from undecided Hispanic voters about the economy, jobs, healthcare, immigration and foreign policy. Journalist Enrique Acevedo will serve as moderator.

“There are more than 36 million Hispanics eligible to vote in the U.S., making them the largest minority in the country, with the power to influence the outcome of the race for the White House and the future of the nation,” Noticias Univision president Daniel Coronell said in a statement.

The town halls may be the last time we hear from Trump or Harris in a forum like this before the Nov. 5 presidential election. The two faced off in their first debate on ABC on Sept. 10, with more than 67 million viewers tuning in — and 74% of TVLine readers declaring Harris the winner. Harris has accepted a second debate that would air on CNN on Wednesday, Oct. 23, but so far, Trump has rejected those plans, suggesting that it’s “just too late” for another debate.
