KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 7 — After several months of trial, Grab Malaysia has rolled out Quiet Ride for its GrabCar eHailing service. As the name implies, the option allows passengers to have a quieter ride with minimal conversations with the driver during the trip.

To get a quiet ride, just tap on the menu button (triple dots) near the bottom of the screen for Grab Car. And then toggle the “Quiet Ride” switch. Once selected, you should have minimal interaction with your driver.

According to Grab, driver-partners will be informed about your preference for Quiet Ride but some essential communication still needs to happen. While Quiet Ride minimises small talk, your driver may still speak to you to verify your name, drop-off location, aircon temperature and preferred route. The radio might still be on during the ride and the driver may answer calls during your trip. If you prefer a silent ride, you can request the driver to turn down the volume or turn off the radio.

Grab says if your driver is still chatting with you, there’s a possibility that the driver could have missed the Quiet Ride notification. In this case, passengers are advised to respectfully and kindly inform the driver about your Quiet Ride preference. For more info, you can refer to the Quiet Ride FAQ. — SoyaCincau
