Police watched from a distance as a seemingly unmanned vehicle circled around and around, backwards, in a Port St. Lucie, Florida, cul-de-sac on November 21, 2019.
Local resident Anna Marie Sabol was on hand to capture video of what turned out to be a dog that had somehow shifted the running vehicle into reverse after its owner stepped away.
According to the Port St. Lucie Police Department, the owner of the vehicle left the car running and stepped out, leaving his black Lab, Max, inside. The driver was locked out of the vehicle as Max apparently shifted the car into reverse and circle the driveway for nearly an hour. Eventually, the car struck a mailbox, slowing it down, and police gained access through the passenger side door.
“No injuries were reported, and the car sustained minor damage. Max was fine, healthy and happy!” said Port St. Lucie PD. Credit: Anna Marie Sabol via Storyful
