Fans of Thorpe Park will be pleased to know that the Hyperia ride is about to open.

A YouTube video by theme park vlogger Jack Silkstone shows that construction at the site is nearly complete and the entrance sign has been installed. The ride is being tested by employees of MACK Rides.

Landscaping continues around the site and the fence posts have all been installed to the queue line, ready for their gold panels to be added.

“Towering above the iconic Thorpe Park skyline stands an all-new marvel of engineering: Hyperia, the UK’s tallest, fastest and most weightless rollercoaster,” Thorpe Park said.

It is 236ft high, has over 3,264ft of twisting track and speeds exceed 80mph.

“Inspired by the legendary daughter of an ancient river god who dared to defy her fears, Hyperia is not just a rollercoaster – it’s a tribute to the powerful potential within each of us. You’ll feel weightless, fearless, invincible,” it continued.

On May 9, Thorpe Park released the television advert for Hyperia. “Fear, when it comes to us, we have a choice,” the advert says. “Fight or flight, what if we chose both? Come soar on the tallest, fastest, most weightless rollercoaster in the UK – now at Thorpe Park. Hyperia: Find your fearless.”

The Chertsey-based theme park has also introduced brand-new Hyperia-themed Thorpe Shark Cabins, which are the only way to guarantee Hyperia Fastrack access.

It includes the following:

  • Theme park entry for two days

  • Buffet breakfast

  • Free parking and Wi-Fi

  • Fastrack queueing

  • Unlimited Fastrack on a coaster of your choice, choose from SAW – The Ride, Colossus, Stealth, Nemesis Inferno or The Swarm.

  • Last hour of unlimited Fastrack on your second day (excluding Hyperia).
