Dixie Fire Intensifies and Grows to Over 322,000 Acres
The Dixie Fire burning in northern California grew to over 322,000 acres (over 503 square miles) on August 5, after a day of hot and dry weather conditions that saw fires intensify across the region.
The fire is now the sixth-largest in California history at 322,502 acres, and remains 35 percent contained, according to officials.
