California’s Dixie Fire advanced towards the Shasta County communities of Old Station and Hat Creek on September 9, as fresh evacuation orders were issued for the county.

Mandatory evacuations were ordered for Old Station on Wednesday evening, as the Dixie Fire moved closer to the town, while a red flag warning was issued for parts of northern California the following day due to worsening conditions. Officials warned of the potential for thunderstorms and dry lightning.
