Did Adele Finally Confirm Her Engagement?
She respectfully declined a proposal from a fan.

Superstar singer Adele may officially be engaged. After months of speculation about whether or not she and her sports exec beau Rich Paul have been engaged (she even said they were married during an interview in 2023), she cleared up her relationship status during a show in Munich, Germany, in the most Adele way possible. People reports that an enthusiastic fan asked for the singer's hand in marriage at the concert, to which the singer respectfully declined, saying that she was "already getting married."
"I can't marry you, I'm already getting married," she responded—the sweet moment was captured in a fan video posted to X. Eagle-eyed onlookers noticed that she wasn't wearing a ring at the time. However, when she and Paul were spotted in London earlier this summer, she was wearing a pear-shaped diamond ring on that finger.

Back in 2022, Adele was wearing what looked like an engagement ring to the BRIT Awards, but just a few days later, she appeared on the Graham Norton Show and brushed off any rumors, saying, "As if I would ever tell anyone if I was or wasn't [engaged]. It's lovely though, isn't it?
Speculation surrounding Adele (full name Adele Laurie Blue Adkins) and Paul first surfaced in 2021, when they attended a basketball game together—something that they'd do again and again as they grew closer. They went Instagram official in September 2023. Speaking to Vogue about how they met, Adele explained that they'd known each other for quite a long time before taking things out of the friend zone.
“I was a bit drunk. I said, ‘Do you want to sign me? I’m an athlete now,’” she said. “He was dancing. All the other guys were just sitting around. He was just dancing away.”

Adele was married to Simon Konecki from 2018 to 2021. They share a son named Angelo James Adkins. Adele shared that the two were “overdue” to divorce in an interview with iHeartRadio.
“The more and more you put it off, the worse and worse it gets and I had been putting it off anyway for years before, and so now I am chilled as anything,” she said in 2021.
