Derek Tsang thankful for recognition from HK Critics Society

27 Jan – Derek Tsang recently expressed his happiness over news that he was selected as the Best Director by the Hong Kong Film Critics Society Awards.

As reported on Mingpao, the director who won for his work in his new movie "Better Days", told the media that he will keep on learning and improving himself as a filmmaker since making movies is an endless process.

"I don't think of myself as a natural born director. I would continue to learn slowly, explore what kind of movies that its suitable for me to direct, and delves on the subjects that are close to my heart," he said.

Derek also shared the good news on Instagram, writing, "Thanks to the Hong Kong Film Critics Society, and congratulations to all the award-winning colleagues!"

Starring Zhou Dongyu and Jackson Yee, "Better Days" is an adaptation of Jiu Yuexi's YA novel "In His Youth, In Her Beauty", about a bullied high school girl and a teenage street thug and how both of their lives were changed by each other.
