Deputies Help Trapped Crocodile Return to Water in Florida Keys

Deputies in the Florida Keys, with the help of brave Good Samaritans, went above and beyond on Friday, May 5, as they subdued a crocodile in order to return it to water after it became trapped between a roadway and a fence line, officials said.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), deputies received a call of a crocodile trying to access the canal in Islamorada just after 7 am Friday.

“Deputies and officers feared the animal would run into traffic while it tried to find the water. The uninjured crocodile was released into nearby waters without incident or damage to property,” the MCSO said.
