Dense Fog Blankets Chicago Area

Dense fog settled over Chicago, Illinois, and the northeastern part of the state on Monday, October 31, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Video posted by Stacy Jager on Monday shows heavy fog looming in Lockport. Jager said “what strange weather for Halloween,” explaining that “we started with a beautiful rainbow during trick-or-treating and then ended with a very foggy night!”

The NWS said the “areas of shallow fog” persisted into the early morning hours of Tuesday, warning drivers to “be prepared for quick changes in visibility over short distances.” Credit: Stacy Jager via Storyful
