A group of demonstrators in Nairobi, Kenya, took a knee next to a casket to protest police brutality on June 9.
According to journalist Sarah Kimani, the demonstration took place outside the Kenyan Parliament; a protester in the footage holds a sign reading “Youth Lives Matter.”
An anti-racism protest was also held outside the US Embassy in Nairobi on June 9, according to local reports.
On June 8, protesters in Nairobi marched against police violence during the coronavirus curfew.
At least 15 people have been killed by police in Kenya, and 31 people injured since the COVID-19 curfew was imposed in late March, the country’s Independent Policing Oversight Authority said on June 2.
