Demi Moore Wows in Show-Stopping 3D Corset Gown and Piles of Diamonds at 'The Substance' Cannes Premiere

The star, 61, looked radiant in a haute couture champagne gown with dramatic wing detail

Demi Moore is shaping up to be the style star of Cannes Film Festival.

On Monday, May 20, the 61-year-old actress took the red carpet for the premiere of her horror film The Substance in a stunning Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown with a dramatic 3D detail.

The star, styled by Brad Goreski, wowed in the satin champagne ensemble, which featured a corset bodice and a 3D pointed wing protruding from the left side of the bust. She accessorized the look with dazzling Chopard jewels including a choker necklace and drop earrings. Her waist-length hair was styled into loose waves and she wore a soft glam makeup look.

The Substance, which is an official selection at the 77th Annual Cannes Film Festival, also stars Dennis Quaid and Margaret Qualley.

Not much is known about the film's plot, but the Cannes' official website provides an ominous description of the film, reading: “Have you ever dreamed of a better version of yourself? You should try this new product: The Substance. It changed my life. With The Substance, you can generate another version of yourself, younger, more beautiful, more perfect… Just share the time. One week for one, one week for the other. A perfect balance of seven days. Easy isn’t it? If you follow the instructions, what could go wrong?”

Moore kicked off her appearance at Cannes on Friday, May 17 for the premiere of Kinds of Kindness. The star looked radiant in a red beaded Giorgio Armani Privé gown with floral details. The floor-length column dress featured a v-neck detail and intricate beaded embellishments and she accented the look with statement Chopard earrings that matched the gown's pattern.

The actress had another standout fashion moment earlier this month at the 2024 Met Gala in New York City. At the Monday, May 6 event, Moore shut down the red carpet in a black column gown by Harris Reed and diamond jewelry by Cartier. The dress featured a pink-and-white floral design and a spiked, heart-shaped structural element.

Speaking with Ashley Graham on the Vogue red carpet, Moore said her dress was "not heavy at all" and in fact, it made her "want to rumba."

The designer, who walked the carpet with Moore, revealed that the star's gown was made of wallpaper.

"It all started with this incredible Cartier necklace that Demi is wearing," Reed told Graham. "It was inspired by the floral feeling it gave me. The whole piece is made out of vintage archival wallpaper. We repurposed it. It’s 11,000 hours of silk embroidery that we’ve repurposed into this idea of her blooming on the carpet. I wanted to be the vines to her thorns."
