Demi Lovato 'Wants Nothing to Do' With Ex-Fiancé Max Ehrich After His 'Embarrassing' Posts
Demi Lovato and Max Ehrich's breakup was reported last week, and at first things seemed civil and peaceful. Then over the weekend, Ehrich started posting Instagram Stories claiming he only learned about their engagement ending through tabloids, then tried to woo her back by praising her singing and saying he loves her unconditionally. Yesterday, he accepted the relationship was over. Then early this morning, he took aim at tabloid sources speaking about the breakup to outlets. "Stop trying to defamate [sic] me for telling the truth," he wrote.
Lovato has maintained silence on her social media channels, though she did take down her Ehrich photos on her Instagram, and Ehrich took down his with Lovato. And a source close to her spoke to E! about how she feels about Ehrich's post-breakup antics. It's embarrassing...and Lovato is over it.
A source told E! previously that Ehrich has been "lying" in some of his posts, most notably when he claimed he did not learn about the breakup until after it came out in the press. A source additionally told People that "Demi made Max aware that the relationship was over and it was going to come out in the press."
Now, Lovato just wants to cut the ties for good. She is not happy about Ehrich making their breakup a public spectacle. "Demi wants no contact with Max at this point," the source said. "She is completely embarrassed at the way he's been acting and putting their relationship on blast via social media. She wants nothing to do with him."
The source added that Ehrich's "erratic behavior" is "worrying" for Lovato, as she "does not want the situation to escalate."
"Demi is completely done and doesn't want to see him again at this point," the source said. "She can't believe she fell into his trap and is really upset over it." Ehrich first caused controversy when old tweets and posts of him lusting over other female celebrities, most notably Selena Gomez, went viral earlier this month. Fans claimed he was a clout chaser, and Lovato and her family reportedly started to doubt his intentions leading up to the split. Lovato and Ehrich first started dating in March; they got engaged less than five months after they began dating.
