Deluge Brings Flash Flooding to Summerholm, Queensland

Flash flooding struck Summerholm, Queensland, on October 18, as the Australian Bureau of Meteorology warned of severe thunderstorms in the state.

Heavy rain and hail brought power outages to over 2,500 homes across the Gold Coast.

9News reported that parts of Queensland were hit with giant hailstones, and a tornado was confirmed in the town of Pittsworth.

Damaging wind, large hail, and heavy rainfall were forecast for the remainder of the day.
