Sabah Chief Minister Hajiji Noor has insisted that the state will allow dine-in during the lockdown against Covid-19.
Sabah moved into Phase 2 of the National Recovery Plan today.
Under Phase 2 of the plan drafted by the federal government, it only allows for more businesses to open but dine-in is still not allowed.
However, Hajiji is insistent that dine-in will be allowed in the state.
"This is our position," he said in a brief statement issued by the Sabah government.
The directive took effect on June 29.
A day after the directive was issued, Deputy Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob, who was at the time the senior minister in charge of the security cluster, had advised that all states should abide by the standard operating procedures outlined by the National Security Council.
However, the advice fell on deaf ears.
