Deer saved from drowning in lake in India by boaters out on the water

Quick-thinking boaters in central India saved a swamp deer from drowning in a lake in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, on Thursday 25 November. The deer is thought to have been swept out to water by a gushing stream it had gone to to drink, in Van Vihar National Park. Visuals show the deer struggling to stay afloat, causing panic amongst onlookers. They quickly get over their surprise and pull the deer towards their boat, securing ropes around the animal's horns, to hold the animal against the boat while they take it towards the shore. The rescuers from the Water Sports Academy took a sigh of relief as they averted tragedy.
