Debris Litters Roadway After Explosion at Apartment Complex Near Atlanta

At least two people were injured when an explosion blew apart a section of an apartment complex in Dunwoody, a city in DeKalb County, north of Atlanta, Georgia, on Sunday, September 12, authorities told local reporters at the scene.

The Dunwoody Police Department said it began receiving calls just before 1.30 pm about an explosion at the Arrive Perimeter residential complex off Asbury Square.

Officers and crews from the DeKalb County Fire Rescue Department and the Sandy Springs Fire Department responded, police said.

Channel 2 Action News said it was unclear if anyone was trapped in the rubble.

The Georgia Red Cross established a staging area at a local Hampton Inn to provide assistance to people affected by the explosion, police added.
