Deadly Turkey wildfires burn for sixth day

A total of 122 out of 129 fires that have broken out across the country have been brought under control, President Tayyip Erdogan's communications director Fahrettin Altun wrote on Twitter.

Two people died on Sunday (August 1) due to wildfires in the southern town of Manavgat, 10 others were receiving treatment in hospital in the area.

Wildfires are common in southern Turkey in the summer but authorities say the latest blazes have covered a much bigger area.
